Wow, a couple of weeks ago, Adam Kinney posted "Silverlight Gaming is about to explode" and just a short time later, things are sure looking that way!

Just yesterday, a new Game Development Forum was added to Silverlight.net. I'll be lurking around there for sure!

There are some great game programming contests going on, including the $5k ServerQuest Contest, and the Dr. Dobbs Challenge (which also includes the source code for their very cool platform game!)

We have Silverlight 3 lurking around the corner, which ScottGu alluded to some time ago, will have GPU Acceleration. Can anyone say Full Screen Scroller? :)

And Bill Reiss and company are working on a new Game Site devoted to Silverlight, SilverArcade.com. The site offers compensation through ad-generated revenue. Awesome.

Now, the challenge, which I really believe will be met, will be for someone to create a killer, addictive game in Silverlight that will make it a no-brainer for end-users to absolutely HAVE to install the Silverlight plug-in. This will no doubt push the adoption rate for Silverlight through the roof.

Check out two of the submissions so far in Dr. Dobb's Challenge Deuce. They're legitimately cool games, really showcase Silverlight capabilities well.
